October 2023

 A spook-tacular month in Kindergarten! πŸ‘»πŸŽƒπŸ¬

We have had a great second month of school! By this time in the year, the children are very adjusted to our daily routines and school environment!

In ELA we have finished both Unit 1: Plants and Animals Have Needs and Unit 2: Every Story Has Characters! Throughout Unit 2 we have been working on recognizing and producing rhymes,  Our comprehension goals have been comparing and contrasting, understanding characters, and text & graphic details. In grammar we continued learning about nouns, verbs, and introduced question words! We work each and everyday on our writing and fine motor skills! Sight words we have learned so far are: I, like, the, we, go, see!

In Math we worked through Chapter 2: Geometry, where we learned about all different shapes and patterns. Then, we worked through Chapter 3: Positions! We learned all different position words such as before, next, last, between, left, right, above, below, etc! We have now moved into Chapter 4: Numbers 1-10!

In Religion: We continue to practice the Sign of The Cross, the Hail Mary, and our morning/afternoon prayers! We spent time thanking God for the gifts of the land and the animals! We now are moving into learning about the Church Year and Ordinary Time!
