November 2023

 A thankful month in Kindergarten!

Our third month here in school was filled with gratefulness and fun! We are so incredibly thankful for each day we are blessed to spend with your children! They have grown so much since September and we love watching them progress!

In ELA we have finished Unit 3: Rules at Home and School! Throughout Unit 3 we worked on segmenting onsets and rimes, identifying ending sounds, and substituting phonemes. Our comprehension goals have been comparing and contrasting, drawing conclusions, questioning, identifying an author's purpose, and looking at the relationship between illustrations & the text! In grammar we explored capitalization and using complete sentences! We work each and everyday on our writing and fine motor skills! Sight words we have learned so far are: I, like, the, we, go, see, can, she, a, and is!

In Math we are continuing to work through Chapter 4: Numbers 1-10! We spent each day identifying and writing the numbers, focused on names for ordinal numbers (first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth), and number patterns! We plan to take our Chapter 4 Test next week :).

In Religion we continue to practice the Sign of The Cross, the Hail Mary, and our morning/afternoon prayers! We spent time this month learning about the Church Year and Ordinary Time! We are now moving into Advent!

Doing "show & tell" presenting their art work to the rest of the class!🎨
