Week of April 24th

 Happy Friday Kindergarten!

We had an awesome week at school! The countdown to graduation is 24 days ... can you believe it?!
Our read alouds this week were Red Eyes or Blue Feathers, Chameleon, Chameleon, A Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Worrysaurus.

In ELA this week when reading Chameleon, Chameleon we focused on conclusions & monitoring our reading as a comprehension skill. We continue substituting, segmenting, and blending sounds to create and change CVC words. We enjoyed reading nonsense words as well! We practiced our sight words by spelling them and creating sentences. Our letter of the week was 'Zz'! We met our next letter person Mr. Z with Zipping Zippers! We completed our Mr. Z puppets and wrote in our journals. In math we continued through Ch. 10: Time. We learned about the seasons, how to read the calendar, compared time, and learned how to tell the time on the hour! In Religion we finished up learning about Baptism & learned all about St. Catharine of Siena in honor of her feast day tomorrow!

We 💗 our butterflies! As a group we named them Joey, Messi, Nemo, Rainy, and Sunny!

Next Week
  • We will begin crowning Mary! Next week will be Maggie, Andrew, Bruce, Lilly, and Tony!
  • Friday: PJ + Stuffed Animal + Movie Day!🎥🍿 The kids have filled up our compliment chart and won this as a reward! The kids are allowed to wear their PJs to school and bring in a stuffed animal. We will have a snack and watch a movie in the afternoon!

Looking Ahead....
  • Monday, May 8th: $1 Dress Down
  • Friday, May 12th: Mother's Day Luncheon 11:30-12:30! More information to come!

We hope you have a great weekend!
Best,
Miss Ryan & Mrs. Lowe
