Week of April 3rd and April 10th

 Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and weekend with your families! We loved getting back into our routines, playing with friends, and working hard last week! Recently we have been talking a lot about acting like big 1st graders and working toward that goal!

In ELA last week we read "Leo the Late Bloomer" and focused on story structure. We discussed characters, setting, problem, and solution! We continue each week substituting, segmenting, and blending sounds to create and change CVC words. We practiced our sight words by playing Tic Tac Toe! Our letter of the week was 'Ww'! We met our next letter person Ms. W with Wonderful Words! We completed our Ms. W puppet. In math we continued learning about money: counted on using dimes and quarters, fair trades, and comparing amounts!

We welcomed 5 new caterpillars into our room this week! They are currently moving their way to the top of the jar to form their chrysalis'! We began writing in our "Observation Journal" as a budding entomologist!

This Week:

  • Tuesday: Monthly School Mass hosted by 2nd Grade @ 9 AM
  • Friday: Earth Day Celebration! and SCAN - in the parish center from 6 PM - 9 PM
  • Please bring in a printed picture of your child's Baptism by Thursday. We will be learning about how we became members of the church this week!

Looking Ahead:

  • Friday, April 28th: Dress Down Day & April Birthday Celebration!

Here's to a great week!,
Miss Ryan & Mrs. Lowe
